Updates and Coincidences
Didn't get around for my usual post-Valentine greet and depression monologue for this year. Too wrapped up with my latest interest, file-share downloads. File-share downloads is a bandwidth intensive venture though it also presented its own share of security risks for the uninitiated. Besides being bandwidth intensive, its also time-intensive, because of the size of the files and moreso the availability of the resource host that holds the sought-after files. These PDFs downloads helped matters on procuring RPG books which are technically hard to find/buy/locate or out of print, short of doing a gamble on E-bay.
As to updates, I got a comment from Adrian Mann which is outlined here:
"I'm the guy who did the images and site at www.bisbos.com/rocketscience/tta. I'm really glad that people seem to have such fond memories for the books as I do. Anyway, I come bearing news: The TTA is being resurrected! A new publisher has bought the rights, and a new bok will be out sometime in June, followed by an RPG. The plan is to expand on and fill in the gaps from the old books."
I suspected he traced my hotlinking to one of his pics on his site. I'll remove the link to the pic as a courtesy. But anyways I did a check on his site regarding the news and huzzah!! The news on Mann's site indicated that Morrigan Press Inc. has expressed interest in reviving the Terran Trade Authority materials with a more coherent timeline and story to augment and consolidate the fluff text that's been shown in the original books. And added bonus is that its going to be made into an RPG!!! WooHoo!!! Talk about Blast From The Past is Back!!! ^_^. Projected release date would by June 2006. I hope it gets published and makes it way to Philippine shores here, even though it would be ordered as an art book item by the bookstores here. It should be a pretty book to look at. :)
As to the coincidence portion in the title of this post, this came about after browsing Morrigan Press' website to see any news regarding the TTA RPG when I noticed the old news items on their news section indicating an RPG based on the "Templar Chronicle" series of dark fantasy books. It was slated for 2005 release. I did a Google search query to locate anything regarding about it. I skimmed through the premise of the series at Templar Chronicles and it has a very familiar feel in some manner to this session that happened Feb 21, 2004. It had a similiar vibe though I would say in contention that operators of Excelsis are far more powerful with their saintly powers and the arsenal backing them up. What crazy world where art imitates life or vice versa eh?
I'll keep you readers posted regarding any new stuff. :)
