Musical Meme Attack of Nostalgia

A very long delayed post for this meme.

Read this item on Dean's blog. It was an amusing read in terms of the comment for the songs generated from the list which can created by a search function. Below is the steps of how to do it.

Here’s the how its done:

Go to this site. Look for the search box on the left. Fill it in with the year that you graduated high school, in my case 1988. Click open the first search result – it will have a 100 songs. Now cut and paste that and comment on the songs from you heard in that year you graduated.

1. Faith, George Michael - Music video I saw and remembered was the first time
of seeing him in leather. Though the homosexual orientation of Mr. Michael was barely an issue or a question at the time since he broke off and went solo from "Wham!".
2. Need You Tonight, INXS - Just plain like it, no major points about this one.
3. Got My Mind Set On You, George Harrison - Semi-catchy tune and kinda harkens the matters of memory.
4. Never Gonna Give You Up, Rick Astley - Its a likeable song in that love/hate mix. Of course, it bites us back now when it gets played on Philippine Afternoon Variety Shows.
5. Sweet Child O' Mine, Guns N' Roses - Got used to the shrieks and caterwauling expected at the twilight of hair/rock bands of the 80's.
6. So Emotional, Whitney Houston - Me not a fan of her songs for sure.
7. Heaven Is A Place On Earth, Belinda Carlisle - Lead vocal of 80's girl band "The Go-Gos" goes solo. This song is headlines her second album. Music video was directed by Diane Keaton as I recall as a bit of trivia. I may sit corrected upon verifying this.
8. Could've Been, Tiffany - See #6 for reason. Though of course as of 2002, she did filled up nicely for a nude pictorial on Playboy. She married too and the way she filled up in the chest department might make one think-scream "implants!". ;)
9. Hands To Heaven, Breathe - Never heard of this song.
10. Roll With It, Steve Winwood - See #9
11. One More Try, George Michael - See #9
12. Wishing Well, Terence Trent d'Arby - Likeable song though he's in the biz at the same time when the Milli Vanilli was on the scene and they sound alike.
13. Anything For You, Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine - See #10
14. The Flame, Cheap Trick - See #9
15. Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car, Billy Ocean - Good beat of a song though sounds like an invite for a long road trip.
16. Seasons Change, Expose - Slow and smooth kind of song. Too bad Exposè folded up after a couple of songs.
17. Is This Love, Whitesnake - See #9
18. Wild, Wild West, Escape Club - Trippy psychedelic video using mirror trick.
19. Pour Some Sugar On Me, Def Leppard - Another decent hair/rock band song.
20. I'll Always Love You, Taylor Dayne - See #9
21. Man In The Mirror, Michael Jackson - Mikey's song about introspection as I put it.
22. Shake Your Love, Debbie Gibson - Excessive teeny-boppyness for this one. Definitive bubblegum pop music.
23. Simply Irresistible, Robert Palmer - Who wouldn't like this song? Robert Palmer with a bevy of babes in identical makeup and outfits (short black dress and swimsuit) makes it great eye-candy along with a good song beat.
24. Hold On To The Nights, Richard Marx - See #9
25. Hungry Eyes, Eric Carnen - See #9
26. Shattered Dreams, Johnny Hates Jazz - In spite the band's name, it has a good jazzy feel in it.
27. Father Figure, George Michael - I just think there's some unspoken parental issues George has with his father or something. Talk about dysfunctional results.
28. Naught Girls (Need Love Too), Samantha Fox - See #9, though Samantha Fox was a hot-looking thing that time. She's a lesbian as I checked on her status.
29. A Groovy Kind Of Love, Phil Collins - Slow kind of song for a different sort of love.
30. Love Bites, Def Leppard - See #9
31. Endless Summer Nights, Richard Marx - See #9
32. Foolish Beat, Debbie Gibson - Its a teeny-boppy attempt towards lamenting about a tragedy or an end to relationship.
33. Where Do Broken Hearts Go, Whitney Houston - Me don't like you.
34. Angel, Aerosmith - Just started to get into listening to them ever since the band was featured in the song "Walk This Way" with Run DMC.
35. Hazy Shade Of Winter, Bangles - Good rocking beat during the chorus, fast paced song too. One of their last great songs before they faded to obscurity.
36. The Way You Make Me Feel, Michael Jackson - Michael Jackson illustrated in a music video how to sexual harass a girl. Oh and the crotch grab is there too. :)
37. Don't Worry, Be Happy, Bobby McFerrin - Optimistic morale boosting song.
38. Make Me Lose Control, Eric Carnen - See #9
39. Red Red Wine, UB40 - Good starter for reggae music. The lyrics that kinda sticks to my mind is "The line broke, the monkey get choke,
Burn bad rizla pon him little rowing boat "
40. She's Like The Wind, Patric Swayze - See #9
41. Bad Medicine, Bon Jovi - Song about describing wrong type of woman as expired pharmaceuticals. Crazy headbanging stuff.
42. Kokomo, Beach Boys - Good beach driving song.
43. I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That, Elton John - See #9
44. Together Forever, Rick Astley - Fast beat of song though I generally dislike his music for some unknown reason.
45. Monkey, George Michael - Monkey on one's back song. Nuff said. No gay-bestiality theme in it for sure.
46. Devil Inside, INXS - Catchy song with that inner devil theme in it.
47. Should've Known Better, Richard Marx - See #9
48. I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love, Chicago - See #9
49. The Loco-Motion, Kylie Minogue - Kylie's own spin of a remake. Though a hottie in the later years when she took a chance in taking things into her own hands.
50. What Have I Done To Deserve This?, Pet Shop Boys and Dusty Springfield - Like Pet Shop Boys song.
51. Make It Real, Jets - See #9
52. What's On Your Mind, Information Society - Inquiring minds kind of a song.
53. Tell It To My Heart, Taylor Dayne - Kicking furious song of confirmation of one's love. Too bad she's under one-hit wonder category as I can say. Though I recently recall 2 other songs recently.
54. Out Of The Blue, Debbie Gibson - Agh!! Another one of teeny-boppyness.
55. Don't You Want Me, Jody Watley - Seductive song, not as thumpy as "Looking For A New Love"
56. Desire, U2 - Its U2! Who wouldn't?
57. I Get Weak, Belinda Carlisle - I pretty much liked Belinda's music after listening to her first album. This one is from her second album.
58. Sign Your Name, Terence Trent d'Arby - See #9
59. I Want To Be Your Man, Roger - See #9
60. Girlfriend, Pebbles - Another girl group on the level of Exposè.
61. Dirty Diana, Michael Jackson - A windblown music video as I recall. The Dirty part in the title doesn't really paint Diana as someone slutty or something.
62. 1-2-3, Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine - Catchy, jumpy song with a basic school math feel. :)
63. Mercedes Boy, Pebbles - See #60

79. Don't Be Cruel, Bobby Brown - See #9

The music video was something else though, it was actually taking ng
