Shellhead unpacked

I've been monitoring a meagerly possible regarding this comic character to be brought to the silver screen. Its the high-tech hero, Iron Man! G4TV was able to get some coverage about Comic-Con 07 in San Diego which covers a number of comic related news in terms of projects and especially movies, Iron Man included. The movie is to be a mix of CG and good ol fashioned FX that would bring the armored avenger to life. The exclusive trailer put together for Comic-Con was said to be incredible. Incredible? That's more for the Hulk. Invincible is more appropriate. There was mention of a crate to be opened at Comic-Con to promote the movie. The contents of said crate is located here.

From what was shown, its the prototype Mark I suit that Stark wore first time during his captivity in Afghanistan as redone in this starting origin for more modern times.
Tony Stark is played by Robert Downey Jr. I hope it wasn't on his infamousness for substance abuse which can help with Tony's alcoholism which might covered in future installments. Other cast members are Terrence Howard as James Rhodes, Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia "Pepper" Potts, Jeffe Bridges as Obadiah Stane and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Nick Fury played by Jackson is an obvious tap into the Ultimates given how Fury was depicted in that series. It is slated for 2008 release.

This is one movie I'm looking forward to this coming 2008. :)

That's wonderfully cool! I've looked at the pics on the link you posted. The "cobbled up" look almost reminds me of the new Transformers look. Just take out the pilot it might just become transformable. Into what I would only speculate; how about a suitcase? Anyway, I hope the movie does the title justice, because sometimes in cases of book to screen crossovers something gets lost in the translation and becomes watered down or something else entirely.
